Privacy Policy Cookies, Comments and Your Data
This site collects as little as it can. It runs Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get read, and that is the only tracking on any page: no advertising network, no social pixel and nothing that builds a profile of a visitor across other sites.
What follows describes what actually happens here rather than a general template: the two outside requests a page makes, the cookies analytics writes, the three things stored on your own device, and what a comment records.

What Leaves Your Browser
Two outside requests go out on every page. Google Fonts serves the typeface, and Google Analytics records the visit. Both necessarily carry your IP address to Google; Analytics shortens it before storing it, which is its default behaviour and cannot be switched off.
Analytics writes two cookies to your browser, named _ga and
_ga_V9P3VSGHWY. They hold a random identifier so a second page in the same visit is
counted as the same visit rather than a new one. The first lasts about two years, the second about a
day. If you clear your cookies both go, and a browser set to block them leaves the rest of the site
working exactly as it does now.
What Analytics reports is which pages were opened, roughly where in the world from, and which browser. It is not told your name, your email or anything you type into the comment box. There is no Meta pixel, no advertising script and no other tracker anywhere on the site.
Outbound links to Starbucks, Wikipedia and social platforms are ordinary links. Follow one and you land on that site under its own policy, with nothing passed beyond the click itself.
What Is Stored on Your Device
Three tools write to localStorage, which stays on your own device and is never transmitted anywhere. The budget planner saves the figures you enter so they survive a reload, the recipe steps on item pages keep track of which you have ticked, and the comment form records the time of your last post to limit rapid reposting.
Browser storage cleared removes all three. Nothing else is written, and none of it is read by this site's server, because the site is static and has no server that reads it.
Comments
A posted comment stores five things: the page it was left on, the name you typed, the comment text, which comment it replies to, and the time. No email address is asked for and no account exists.
Comments are held in a Supabase database and are public once posted, so give the name field a moment of thought. To have one removed, use the contact page with enough detail to identify it.
